When I was only 15 years old, I left my home country China along to come to America for my engineering dream. I started off my American school life in Fork Union Military Academy. Home sick and language problem made everything in my life not as long as before. I suddenly I found myself in the circumstances of unconfident and isolated. It made me set down and thought about what I should do to not only fit myself into the group, but also distinguish myself from others. Father’s quote “Hard work always pays off” inspired me so much that I finally find my way to achieve. I will never forget those days in the FUMA barracks when I sacrifices every single minutes of my free time on Orienteering, Academics, Robotics and inspection preparation. At the same time being called “try hard”, I finally achieved my first milestone in my American cadet life. September of 2013, I was promoted to be a squad leader to take a part of responsibility of my platoon. After I was promoted to be a squad leader, I work even harder, I always find myself taking charge of platoon sergeant’s job. I worked my way up to my position right now, 2nd lieutenant, one of the highest ranking officer from all juniors.
